Travelling to Taveuni Island

Taveuni is in the South Pacific in Fiji with Flight of the Nadi International Airport in Los Angeles, Sydney and Auckland. The hours-long flight to Nadi, Taveuni is a fascinating experience that hits you over the islands and clear blue sea. If you have never scuba dive before, oh Boy! you are missing one of the best pleasures in life. But before I explain all the points about learning to Dive in Taveuni, I want to talk a little about why Taveuni is such a fantastic place to dive.

Taveuni is a volcanic island, that has been for years a hidden treasure for scuba divers around the world, one of the main reasons is because diving in Taveuni is different from other places in Fiji. In Taveuni you don’t have “crowds” of people in a boat, and you don’t have the dive site with “100″ divers at some stage, like in many places in Fiji, Thailand, or even in Australia.

To coral in Taveuni is untouched, zero contamination, and with a rich and vibrand marine life. It is simply one of the most beautiful reefs you will ever seen.

One of the most amazing things that I found of diving in Taveuni is the fact that thanks to the topography of the sea bed, you can see all type of marine life. Taveuni sea bed manages to go well beyond 100 meters, so divers can actually enjoy the option of seeing on different levels of their dives (not at 100 meters obviously!) animals that enjoy ascending time after time, from deeper water levels.

Sharks… reef fishes … manta rays … dolphins and even whales.
